Art Class

I found this wonderful free resource online for art lessons.  It is seriously fantastic!  I highly recommend checking out Art for Kids Hub. You can look through the lessons or you can search the site for something to draw.  This site has a collection of videos with step by step instructions for drawing and coloring or painting.  We've done the skunk, cat, and koala so far.  I have pictures of the skunk and koala.  This is my kid's favorite class!

Bible Class

This year for Bible class, we decided to try Grapevine Studies and we are liking it so far.  The curriculum is very easy to follow with no teacher prep before hand.  The only complaint my oldest has is that there is review of the lesson at the end and she said she doesn't need to review.  LOL.  I really like this curriculum because it gets the kids involved in learning.  I have my oldest look up and read the Scriptures from the Bible, then I draw the scene on  the white board and they copy the image onto their corresponding page.

Micah 6:8

Micah 6:8 kept coming to my mind when thinking about how I wanted to raise my kids.  In asking myself "what do I want my kids to grow up to be?"  This Scripture is it and it's what we base our family rules on.
"He has shown you, O man, what is good.  And what does the Lord require of you?  To act justly, and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God."
I made a piece of artwork to hang in our schooling area and we go over it every morning to remind us how we should live.

Act Justly
 - We do what is right.
 - We obey God and our parents

Love Mercy
 - We show compassion and kindness to others
 - We do to others the way we would want them to do to us
 - We help others in their time of need even if they cannot repay us

Walk Humbly
 - We stay close to God by praying and reading the Bible
 - We do not boast or brag

Tot School Thursdays

On Thursdays we learn a number.  This week was number 4.  I show her the number and show her how to count that many objects.

I gave her this shapes matching game and she surprised me with how well she did :)

Then I gave her letter "D's" and told her the bears wanted to go for a walk on them.
